All the Ducks are Hand carved from a Bamboo Root recycled with pieces of off cuts of Teak
The single large ducks measure approximately 18" Baby Duckling measures approximately 8" The ducks are produced and recycled from a Bamboo root and pieces of Teak formerly a waste product left to either go to waste or burnt.. Now the two materials are shaped hand carved using the bamboo root for the body and the pieces of teak for the heads, legs and feet.
The ducks are completely weathered and can be put outdoors immediately however, for extra protection just rub down with vegetable or teak oil with no further preparation required.. This protects them against the elements only having periodically to top them up with a quick rub down with teak or vegetable oil. Oiling also brings out the natural luster of the grain in both the body part, which gives a feathering effect, the head and legs showing the rich teak wood grain. Being hand carved every Duck has it's own unique character.. If keeping indoors the oiling process is optional to bring out the grain and won't have to be repeated.
They look good and are suitable in the home, garden, patio or round the pond.
